TanjaMewar Festival in Udaipur, India

From March 18-20, Udaipur (India) is going to be REALLY colourful. During this time, the people of Udaipur celebrate the so called Mewar Festival which welcomes the advent of spring. Especially women dress up in their most beautiful and colourful clothes and celebrate at Lake Pichola (that means – I’m sure you already guessed it – directly in front of our camera!).

Monday evening there were a lot of people floating lit candles into Lake Pichola.

I have no clue what that was about since Diwali is over already – looking for enlightenment …  ;-)

While I was just searching the latest videos from Udaipur for the elephant that my colleague Marco reported to have seen standing in Lake Picchola, I noticed that the monsoon finally kicked in in Rajasthan!

Über das Wetter muss man eigentlich nicht reden, sondern einfach nur zum Fenster hinausschauen. Das ist hier in München momentan allerdings gar nicht ratsam: Auch wenn es gerade nicht in Bindfäden regnet, ist es wolkenverhangen, grau und einfach ungemütlich.
