(1)During our honeymoon in spring 2002 my wife and I stayed in a nice hotel in Cape Town. It offered beautiful views: Table Mountain, downtown, V&A-Waterfront. Therefore I couldn’t other than take the fire escape to the roof. At my job you learn fast to find the way to the rooftop. And for a quick result you strictly have to follow one rule: Don’t ask anyone, neither the hotel management nor your wife. At some occasions you have to be a man of action – probably the reason why I was hired and married!
After our return the installation was planned and the camera was producing attractive images for years. However it had to be removed some day as someone suddenly had some silly security issues – I don’t recall the details. In the meantime a new camera directly at the V&A-Waterfront is reality, giving even more action and attractive views – also to the FIFA2010 stadium. During our honeymoon we also visited Joburg and Londolozi. In the meantime both also became earthTV locations. All without my action – at least during honeymoon!
